I hurt my hip after falling on ice, my doctor thought it was just a bone bruise and would heal on its own so I continued to exercise on it and then 3 months later the pain had not gone away and I sprained my back playing soccer. I realized that it the hip and back issues were connected and when an XRay didn’t show any bone issues, I decided to do a free consult with Trupti that she offered to members of my gym, having read positive testimonials from other members of the gym. She diagnosed my hip labral injury almost immediately. Her manual therapy and custom treatment plan of exercises and stretches to do at home gave my back issues relief quickly, and now 5 months later I’m seeing my hip improve as I progress in stabilizing and strengthening exercises. Through my treatment, which is still ongoing, Trupti has worked with me to safely and slowly return to the activities I enjoy: cycling, hiking, some lifting, and hopefully soon running, climbing and soccer again. Trupti is very skilled and knowledgeable. She holds you accountable to your treatment plan, since doing the work at home is so crucial to seeing results. Highly recommend as a PT for any hip and back issues.

Trupti Mehta at Manual Medicine and Sports Therapy is amazing! I’ve been seeing her for TMJ issues, and unlike other providers I’ve tried, her care has made a real difference. She’s attentive, knowledgeable, and keeps you accountable. Every visit is thorough, and she takes the time to make sure you understand your treatment and progress. I can’t recommend her highly enough for anyone facing chronic pain.

I started seeing Trupti 3 months ago due to lower back and sciatic pain that I’ve been dealing with for the past couple of years. I went to the free discovery visit a year ago and I was immediately blown away by Trupti’s holistic and individualized approach to patient care. In spite of that, I didn’t make the decision to come see her until a year later, thinking that maybe I could heal myself and get rid of the pain on my own, but that didn’t work. Since I’ve been with Trupti I finally feel like someone has my back and is ready to walk this journey with me. I saw the most recommended spinal and hip specialists in the area and was not only not given a proper evaluation, but I was also told this wasn’t something they could diagnose or fix. When Trupti saw me she clearly communicated to me what the root cause of the issue was and set clear expectations about my course of treatment. She also keeps me accountable and cares about my health more than I do myself at times which I’m not only grateful for, but I also admire in her!

I severely injured my right ankle in a cycling accident a year back. My back wheel started spinning on ice, and as I stepped down, the bike fell sideways and my foot slipped with it, and rolled over. It looked like I was standing with my bones on the tar. Both ankle joints in the right ankle were broken inside. I started my physical therapy at a different physical therapy practice in DC, but I was not seeing much progress. I knew what physical therapy could do for me based on my previous experience in Europe. But at this practice, I felt the exercises were not tailored to what exactly I needed. It felt like a general set of exercises like “ You have an ankle injury, so you have to do x,y,z exercises”. Nine months later, I was referred to Trupti by a colleague. Immediately there was a difference in my experience with her. She knew what a Pilon fracture was, she looked at my surgery reports and evaluated my ankle thoroughly. She looked at my muscles, measured the strength, told me where I still had atrophy, and prescribed different types of exercises tailored to my specific problem. She also sent me pictures with descriptions of how to do the exercises. She also looked at the whole leg, the knee and hip also, to see how the ankle was affecting the rest of my leg. I already felt like she was more in tune with what was going on with my ankle, the extent of injury, and what all layers to look at, including the prognosis. My goal is to walk and hike long distances without any shin pain and also delay the onset of arthritis in my ankle. I also would like to get back to running. To help others who have similar problems, it's important to pick a physical therapist who thoroughly looks at your injury and problem instead of just putting it into a category…like ankle pain and just gives you a series of ankle exercises like everybody else they are seeing. With Trupti, she explains to me what she sees, what needs to improve, why I need to do certain exercises and because of that I feel motivated, otherwise I often don’t feel like doing them. She also reassesses every few visits and looks at technique with exercises and corrects that, gives feedback, and changes it to progress it. What I like about Trupti, is she focusses on me, she cares and creates goals for me unlike other therapists I’ve seen, I'm doing the exercises. I feel confident and hopeful about my ankle as I am working with Trupti.
