I’ll be honest — I was skeptical about chiropractic care. I had seen several, and they all had the same routine maneuvers for every patient that didn't work for me. For years, I believed the pain I was living with was just part of getting older. After two surgeries to repair a broken ankle and an L5-S1 back fusion, I figured the stiffness and aches were simply my “new normal.” My surgeon had even suggested a third ankle surgery to fix lingering issues with my Achilles tendon. The thought of another operation wasn’t appealing, so I settled for orthopedic shoes and managed as best I could for over 13 years. Then my husband started seeing Dr. Martinez at ChiroConcepts. But the real miracle happened with my ankle. After a long business trip that involved a lot of walking, my ankle was swollen, sore and blistered. When Dr. Martinez offered to take a look, I was doubtful. I explained that it had been surgically repaired — the tendon was literally sewn to my fibula, and I hadn’t been able to move it freely in years. He examined it and said, “It feels more like a joint issue than a tendon issue.” Then, with a gentle and painless adjustment — something incredible happened. My foot moved. For the first time in over a decade, I could flex my ankle normally. Today, my “bad foot” works just as well as the other one. My family can’t believe how I walk now — in regular shoes, with no pain. It still feels miraculous. Now he keeps all my joints and my spine in proper working order. My only regret? That I didn’t find Dr. Martinez sooner.
