Where to begin... from 4 months old my son was under care by a chiropractor and during that time he formed scoliosis in his Thoracic and Lumbar. The doctors kept telling me it was ok and to not worry and that with continued care he'd be ok. 3 years ago his scoliosis got severe enough that one of the chiropractors he has been seeing finally suggested I go else where to look for care. That's when I found Dr. Zeke. I sent his x-rays to him and we talked for so long on different occasions about what our next steps should be. Unfortunately by this point my sons scoliosis had far surpassed the options of bracing or any other preventative measures. Surgery was now his only course for help. The process was long and complicated and in the end he had 7 different surgeries, one of which he had surgical rods placed T1-T11. During this time if I ever had questions or needed anything all I had to do was reach out to Dr. Zeke and he was there. My son nor I had never even met him! Here we are present day with all that behind us but with so much more in front of us. I reached back out to Dr. Zeke for bracing questions to help my son when he's sitting for long periods of time. We finally met, got the brace and so so much more. We have seen and spoke to so many different doctors from here to Arizona, and Dr. Zeke hands down is just amazing. He always takes the time and effort to make sure we understand everything without making either of us feel bothersome. He was hands on with my son, spoke directly to him, made sure he never left with unanswered questions, and that when he left he could do what was necessary with the brace. He even gave him an adjustment that to this day he's still talking about. We live 1.5 hours away and will continue to make the drive see him once a month, at the very least, for future adjustments. There is a significant difference in the care my son received with Dr. Zeke in just the 2 visits we had with him versus what he's had for the past 14 years. I don't say this meaning the Chiropractors he's had in the past are bad, they aren't, they just aren't what my son needed. We've been blessed to have many people come into our lives at the right time for the right reasons and Dr. Zeke is definitely one of those people. I honestly can't see going forward without him. I wanted to write an updated review. I have now been going to Dr Zeke for 25 years. I have not met a more competent and thorough chiropractor. His empathy for your pain is evident and he is always thinking of how he can get you pain free with the least amount of visits. I have tried traditional doctors and acupuncture but never got the results that Dr Zeke will get. The secret I found is to get regular adjustments to make small improvements and then I don’t have the big problems that occur when I see him infrequently. I know there are some people that are afraid of chiropractors but this is one of the good ones that always takes the conservative approach. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Zeke. You will not be disappointed!!

It's August 2020. Dr. Harkleroad (he is so at ease that he prefers "Zeke" ) has treated me since 2003 when I came to him with multiple degenerative issues in my lumbar as well as well as 2 slipped, compressed discs. Most fortunately, in addition to treating these, he also found the severe scoliosis issues that developed in my thoracic & cervical spine since my teen years as well. I've had serious terminal illnesses that exasberbate these issues severely over the 17 years he's worked with me & quite frankly, he has helped keep me upright & out of the wheelchair from 2009-2010 & on. I wouldn't have been able to walk over time & my condition would have gone undiagnosed without his attention to detail. Zeke treats me & all his patients with the utmost care & respect. As a massage therapist that specializes in kinesiology, watsu therapy, an herbalist & naturopathic health care professional of 22 years, I can say he listens to the patient very closely like no other doctor I've known in the chiropractic field & I've known many. He looks at the big picture & helps guide the patient to heal as brag best they can. And if it is a long-term condition, he assists in improving the patient's quality of life, building strength, minimizing pain & providing comfort. My entire family has been treated by Zeke or still sees him regularly over the years.

Dr. Zeke at Bee Caves Scoliosis & Chiropractic Center was a game changer and he helped me to get my life back! I have been battling back pain all of my life, then about 6 years ago I started having pain in both of my legs, then 8 months ago a severe pain in my left lower back. I had x-ray after x-ray, PT, saw Dr. after Dr. and no one had any answers. Finally I pushed my Dr. and they did a full x-ray of my spine, and thats when they discovered I had Scoliosis. At this point my pain was debilitating. I couldn't sleep without pain, I could no longer do the physical activities I loved, and standing was so painful. Thankfully I was referred to Dr. Zeke and he helped me to not only understand my condition but how it could be fixed with time. The treatments and adjustments he gave me helped with my pain instantly, but the exercises, techniques, guidance, and equipment he helped me to utilize are the things that will change my spinal health for the rest of my life. I am currently living a more full life now, day by day my pain is decreasing, and by sticking with what I have learned from Dr. Zeke in time I think I will be better than I could have imagined. I cannot express in words what Dr. Zeke has done for me. I have Scoliosis; I was not born with it. I was living in CT (a few miles from Old Lyme); this is an important part of my story. The year was 2010 and I was in my late 60's. I was in NYC taking care of my son's cats and decided I wanted to walk to a place that had the best meatballs ever. It was a long, long walk and by the time I got there I was so tired I couldn't even order. Suddenly I realized I couldn't walk back to the apartment. I had a horrific headache, fever, extreme fatigue and my joints hurt. I took a cab and went back to the apartment. I didn't have the energy to ride the train back to CT (and hour and a half train ride). After a couple of days of severe headaches that would not go away with any medication, I bit the bullet and went home. When I got up the next morning, I looked in the mirror and the right side of my face had fallen. I figured I'd had a stroke so I immediately called my doctor and told him my suspicions. I drove myself to the doctor (probably not the best idea since I suspected a stroke. I walked into the doc's office and he took one look at me and said, "I have good news and bad news. The good news is you didn't have a stroke. The bad news is you have Lyme Disease and it is such a severe case that it has gone into Bell's Palsy. I could treat the Bell's Palsy but it is more important that I treat the Lyme Disease because it can kill you, paralyze you, cause brain damage -- on and on." Long story short, the Palsy weakened the right side of my body which then went into Scoliosis. I'm 81and have been in severe pain for years. A few months ago, my son recommended that I see Dr. Zeke. (Actually he recommended Dr. Zeke MANY months ago and I finally made the appointment.) I honestly didn't see how ANYONE could help my VERY crooked back. But I thought: what do I have to lose? Dr. Zeke fitted me with a my custom Spinecor Brace. I've been back a couple of times for him to tweak it as my back is responding and working with the brace. I am beyond amazed. This man is a genius! I can walk my 2-3 miles every morning- PAINFREE!!!! I no longer have to stop and sit on a bench or stop and stretch. In the past, my back would start to hurt after about 1/4 mile. Not now. I complete my entire walk with no pain. In fact, in the past, my back pretty much hurt 24/7. No more!
